Spaceghostpurrp at Highline Ballroom Print E-mail
Written by Doran Miller-Rosenberg

Spaceghostpurrp at Highline Ballroom Highline is a strange venue in that it allows, even encourages rampant blazing of the finest herbs throughout its space.  The night's host, performers and patrons blow blunts as casually as children blow bubbles with their gum.  The last time I was there Action Bronson threw an ounce of weed worth of gram bags out to the crowd.  You've never seen stoners run so quickly and aggressively, and almost trample their fellow tokens for a dub sack.

So when the Highline bouncers started coming around and getting concert-goers to put out their kush and diesel, people started getting very dismayed.  After all, Gramz was smoking a blunt on stage.  And this was the Highline!  Gramz had been unable to enthrall the crowd, but he noticed that something else was amiss.  "They taking ya bud?" he asked.  "Yes!" said at least 5 people.  Gramz immediately passed his blunt into the crowd.  Everyone loved him after that.  Soon Freeway and a plethora of ASAP Mob members were in the building, and the tension was ratcheting up.

Mary J Blidge“Whats the 411?” MJB appeared in 92 Bound for greatness with a sound so unique Along the way she played no games Her pain everyone could feel, going insane Crying out “If you looked in my life and seen what Ive seen” The face of every hurt woman Drugs, abused, and used But somehow she continued to make music that touched our souls “You’re all I need to get by, ahhhh” She was all we needed to get by Because Mary Jane Blige showed us she was human Beyond the vibrant sounds we jammed to She rammed a hammer through the wall of R&B Diva So we could better understand

That nothing went as planned at least in the beginning “Share My World” Imperfections and all

Mary J then sang “No More Drama” “Free to find you happiness” No longer reminiscing on mishaps from the past At last MJB is the real MVP
