“I always respected their movement and also been a fan of their music.” Rob said in a press release announcing the new partnership. “If I'm going independent why not go with a team I respect, and they have always had a true family setting & environment." Rob explained that his upcoming LP will not be littered with guest verses from other rappers but fans can expect production from Buckwild and Pete Rock. “I stayed away from features. I've been away for 4 joints, so I feel the people deserve to hear me. When I came home, I went right to work, and didn't have time to reach out to cats. On my next project you will get that.” Prison time can definitely put a damper on collaborations. Rob was released in May after serving four years for failing to appear at a hearing for a previous grand larceny charge. Black Rob fans living in the NYC area will get a chance to see him October 19 at the Duck Down vs. Blacksmith CMJ Showcase.
