First and foremost it has been truly a pleasure blogging for Blackballot.com and some what restoring the passion and love I have in my heart for writing and entertaining. Being able to somehow reach out to people and in fact influence their daily lives is a remarkable feeling. Now while my commentary has strictly been based solely on my own opinion, I have only wanted to in fact show young black beautiful people that we must live our lives in a way that we don't have to worry about suffering dire consequences. Case in point: our beloved T.I. found himself back in jail in September for apparently violating his probation which is just down right ridiculous. It makes me think about the ESPN network that has this television show on it featuring football analyists and they have this segment of the show that features bloopers in sports. Anywho whenever there is a blooper they use the slogan, "cmon man" which exactly summarizes the last two years of T.I.'s personal life and troubles with the law. Okay moving on, Lil Wayne is by far one of the most popular and loveable artists of our time. He is like a modern day Tupac in the sense of the influence he has had on our generation. However even he couldnt escape jail time for illegal possession of a weapon. But what really bothered me the most is how his manager wanted so bad to take the bid for Lil Weezy, even claiming that the gun was his. It's like "cmon man", Mr Carter made a mistake and unless it really wasn't his which we may never know, he commited the crime, so he must do the time. It's that simple and I think everyone must abide by the law no matter who you are. Another troubled artist DMX who hasn't had much success in the music world in recent years has definitely become a regular in prison. He is another entertainer who has not been able to stay on the right track but in his case he has a more serious problem then the others I mentioned above. He is addicted to a powerful substance known as crack cocaine and this has made his battle to do the right thing extremely hard. I know that is the main ingredient for disaster because I come from a family where I watched someone close to me battle with the addiction. Now while drug addiction is damn good exscuse it can't be continuously used as clutch to do wrong. At some point you must wake up and realize that you have to take the necessary steps to do the right thing by any means necessary.

         Now hip hop hasn't been all bad this year and in fact there is some positivity to take note of. Chris Brown has in my eyes continued to blossom into a wonderful young man. He has steered away from negative publicity and has done nothing but be a positive role model and his rendition of the late great Pop Icon Michael Jackson at the BET Awards was unbelievable. The emotional break down at the end nearly brought me to tears; it was as if I could feel his pain personally. For some people to even say the tears were staged, "cmon man," if you didnt feel that pain, you just dont have a heart. Now Kanye West has done all he could for us to forgive him for crashing the stage at the 2009 VMA's during Taylor Swifts acceptance speech. While that occured a year ago, it was as if West spent the whole 2010 defending himself and apologizing. I believe he was sincere and genuine; he understands it was a bone-headed mistake, so "cmon man" lets forgive him please. Last but not least, I must say I applaud the Queen of Hip-Hop...Nicki Minaj. Haters came a dime a dozen this year, but the self pro-claimed Barbie dodged em all like they were bullets and still continued to drop hit after hit in collaborating with some of musics biggest artist. She kept it classy stayed out of trouble and not once did she stoop down to the immaturity of those who wanted to see her fail. Kudos to Minaj and as for everyone out their, lets make 2011 a year of less mistakes and more accomplishments. Goodbye 2010 and Hello 2011!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!
