Whitney Houston in my humble opinion; like a lot of superstars was a product of a corrupt entertainment industry that pawns off their entertainers to the world. It’s designed for them to have massive success, be pressured to fulfill unrealistic expectations at times, and then the final nail in the coffin: the downfall that consists of erratic behaviors and drug abuse. I refuse to believe Whitney Houston became strung out on recreational drugs because of her marriage to Bobby Brown. I also believe there is a reason as to why she was allegedly addicted to prescription drugs. Success and love don’t make people become addicts, destroy lives, or kill. The industry as what it did to Michael Jackson; killed Whitney and even changed the prerogative star himself, Mr. Bobby Brown among other stars for the worse. We all have our own faults in which we may one day be judged for accordingly. Those faults may very well end up being the determining factor in those gates of Heaven opening for us or not opening for us.
A POEM FOR WHITNEY HOUSTON A Sweet, beautiful, angelic, legendary songstress perished Without so much of a goodbye Cherished are those timeless records and performances That touched our hearts and souls Now our hearts are in mourning, torn between Our musical emotional heartache and the timing of GOD Calling home one of his angels An angel we all loved and admired like she was our very own
Allured in by the once innocent and pureness Of America's sweetheart The iconic pop star who embodied everything right Before those unfortunate tumultuous times Her illustrious career brought tears to our eyes Made us smile, and inspired us to never give up
A captivating legacy that became unfairly tainted We were blessed by her GOD given talent, a great voice unlike no other She epitomized the ultimate female singer With style, grace, and humility Whitney Houston Saved all her love for the world Told us "I Will Always Love You" Paved the righteous path for women across the world
She always reminded us of her Humble relationship with Christ We exhaled with Whitney when love went wrong Inhaling searching within ourselves She shared so much of her love With everyone who would Listen She glistened with a glow in her prime That all could see
Her influence unmatched even with the flaws The anointed one, the reason every little girl Picked up a brush and sung in the mirror We all wanted to be just like Whitney Sicken with pain at the lost of A radiant personality with charm That will truly be missed
A fulfilled purpose on earth at the age of 48 The date not by accident or coincidence Her amazing spirit endured too much The weight of the millions of fans on the powerful shoulders of Whitney Houston Even became to much to bear All she ever wanted was to sing, be happy, and be loved
To never let us down and in the end She did all she could to ensure we will never forget her Despite how much it saddens me, today I say Whitney Houston is in a better place May she R.I.P
While she's not here in the flesh anymore, her spirit shall live on forever Whitney Houston touched our lives with an unbelievable voice that went perfectly with her squeaky clean image. In a matter of minutes Houston’s rendition of the national anthem during the 1991 Superbowl was able to unite our country in a way no was able to. She was a role model for women of all ages and ethnic backgrounds across the world; unlike most of today’s R&B divas who have very little class or substance in their music. “Saving All My Love,” “I Will Always Love You,” “You Give Good Love,” “Greatest Love Of All,” “I Have Nothing, and “Exhale (Shoop Shoop)” were undoubtedly some of her most powerful and successful records on a list of plenty. The fashion trendsetter moved us with music that we will always cherish. The death of Whitney Houston will hurt for a long time because despite the down years of her life; she was still always looked at as Americas golden girl whose luck changed drastically. Whitney wasn’t perfect, but who is? The many tributes that are expected until she is laid to rest aren’t about disregarding the rough times of her life. Of all the celebrities that have passed away in my generation; Whitney deserves so much respect and to be remembered the right way. She never wanted to harm anyone or even leads us in the wrong direction.
It wasn’t meant for Whitney to encounter so many travesties. Her purpose for being here on earth was to bless us with her voice and pureness of what she once was. Her innocence taken for granted, better yet was stolen from her when all she wanted to do was sing, be happy, and be loved. Her open book life chronologies the rise and fall of a woman and singer who cried out for help for many years during her tumultuous times, but we ignored her and thought she was crazy. To the powers that be, taking Whitney Houston from this earth, was probably best for the troubled singer even though we all didn’t want to see her go out like this.
Sadden, distraught, and surprised are among the many emotions that describes how I feel at the sudden passing of the one and only Whitney Houston. I treasure life so much nowadays because you really don’t know how long you have here on earth; so whenever someone dies, it normally touches my heart in an emotional way. Another legendary entertainer, who at her peak epitomized woman empowerment, is gone too soon; without ever again having a legitimate chance at redemption for all the tragedies she faced in her life. As I’m finishing up this article, I am still in utter disbelief that America’s sweetheart has perished at the tender age of 48. It’s okay to mourn Whitney’s life, but I think it’s even more suitable to celebrate the iconic pop singer’s legacy and influence on the world and music industry.
