Step 1 I have officially been welcomed into corporate America. I have obtained a position at a major insurance company and am now a part of a rather rigid structure. Sorry, Black America. We have to stop first. As frustrated as we may be with Don Imus and, well, White America in general, it doesn t change things. Imus is not the only one calling Black women nappy headed hos . It s unfortunate, yes, and very disappointing that people have feelings like that for our beautiful Black queens, but... get over it. We do get over it when one of our own calls another a nappy headed ho or the b word let s not mention the n word this early in the conversation . Many times we say it as a form of embracing one another.

For decades now, black women have appeared in music videos degrading themselves to nearly nothing just to make it big. The superficial idea that dancing around to lyrics that label them hoes and tricks will land them a one ticket to Hollywood is an age long misconception that has cost black women as a whole their reputation. For this very reason, video vixens have received the blunt of the criticism from women and the black community alike, for allowing themselves to be subjected to such demeaning behavior. However, times have changed and business has cleverly found new means of exploiting us.
