Chiliean Miners So True Spirit of Human Being
Written by C.B. Forde

While in America we complain about this and that, we often need to look the rest of the world to really see what the Human Spirit is all about. Thirty three men have been trapped more than two thousand feet bellow the earth for almost three weeks. The men were thought to be dead, but were miraculously discovered last week alive and well.
What American's need to realize is how fortunate we are, and although tragedies do occur in this country Katrina being a prime example these men are prime examples to the power of the human spirit.
More On Dr. Laura

Another phony racial controversy convulses American discourse. Another cataclysmic upheaval over fake rights violations keeps the rubes distracted while their country spirals into the abyss. We don't live in an all-things-are-equal world, and never have, yet the idea that we do is one of the political right's most abused fallacies. As C.B. Forde already wrote below, all groups—all of them—have language reserved just for them. It's a linguistic fact, worldwide. African-Americans, jews, American Indians, Pakistanis in London, the Basques in Northern Spain, all speak of themselves from within their groups in certain ways that are not tolerated when coming from outside the group. This is true even in family groups, such as when your friend calls his little brother a shithead and laughs, but gets angry when you do it. It's a totally normal mode of behavior, and it's silly to classify it as aberrant or alien.
10 Quick Thoughs on Dr Laura Schlessinger

Dr. Laura Schlessinger
1) Who really cares what she said - after all that Black people have endured this is the least of our problems.
2) She never listened to the woman - which is one of the problems of race relations - white people don't want Black people on this issue, but merely dictate the terms of the conversation, and what the solution will be.
3) Different ethnic/cultural groups often make fun of themselves with jokes or words that are inappropriate for people outside of that group to use. Examples women use the B-Word to refer to each other, homosexuals use the f-word and if anyone outside of the cultural groups uses any of those words it is a problem. Italians, Irish and Jewish people do it as well. In fact the sickest jewish joke was told to me by a Jewish classmate who spent time in Isreal in high school - "How do you fit 6,000,000 Jews in a Volkswagen." I won't finish the joke, but he told me it was the biggest joke in Israel.
SERIAL KILLER Targeting Blacks In Ohio, Virginia and Michigan - 33 Attacks
Written by C.B. Forde
I just saw this on Fox News - and decided need to post this. There is a serial killer that is targeting Black people. He is a white man in a truck. He lures his victims to the car asking for help or directions and then stabs them with a knife. There have been over 30 attacks and 5 fatalities. He has also attacked people in three states.
The suspect has been linked to a dark green Chevy S-10 Blazer with tan trim, with a model year ranging from 1995 to about 2000. Descriptions of the suspect have also been similar in both states, but police haven't revealed any other evidence linking the stabbings.
America's Negative Message to it's Children
Written by Supreme S. Mobley
Up until the election of President Barack Obama, our capitalist government/society failed to see the importance and value of education. This fact, based upon countless budget cuts and reallocations to fund other government programs, had been evident for far too long. I remember being in the second grade, overhearing teachers talking about budget cuts, not having money in the school budget for new textbooks, taking pay cuts, etc. I guess I could understand how money can be taken from the education of our own children to fund HIV/AIDS research, poverty programs, and community welfare programs (but more than just Section 8 and food stamps), things that could potentially save the lives of a highly significant amount of our citizens —if there were absolutely no other endowed government programs which could take a budget cut without significant consequence. The reducing of education funds to allocate more money to be at the disposal of the military is completely preposterous. That conveys a message to our children that the economical gain from war is more important than making sure the children get the ABSOLUTE best education that the United States, in conjunction with whatever state a child lives in, could possibly provide. I do not remember if there was a time where the government cut millions of dollars from any other program to fund some new education programs. I feel like the government looks at education as some type of credit card. The only person who ever completely made me feel like things would be different in that aspect was President Barack Obama with his ED Recovery Act, which is an attempt to mend some of the damage done to the education system after decades of financial battering.

Pakistan Hires Transgender Workers to Shame Tax Delinquents
Written by C.B. Forde
Sometimes you have to be creative. What do you think of this exploitation or opportunity?
This is an article from the New York Times.
"As my colleague Sabrina Tavernise reports, nationwide, less than a million out of 170 million Pakistanis voluntarily filed income tax returns last year. The rate is among the lowest in the world.
In a bid for a solution — and some publicity — the Clifton board borrowed a creative idea that alleviated tax woes in neighboring India: It hired a team of transgender tax collectors to go door-to-door to embarrass the rich until they pay."
Dear Mr. Lincoln
Written by Kwesi McDavid-Arno
Teaparty Express spokesman Mark Williams stated this response to the NAACP statement asking that they denounce racism. This is incredible that this is the response. What do we do?
Dear Mr. Lincoln
We Colored People have taken a vote and decided that we don't cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!
In fact we held a big meeting and took a vote in Kansas City this week. We voted to condemn a political revival of that old abolitionist spirit called the ‘tea party movement'.
Perhaps the most racist point of all in the tea parties is their demand that government “stop raising our taxes.” That is outrageous! How will we Colored People ever get a wide screen TV in every room if non-coloreds get to keep what they earn? Totally racist! The tea party expects coloreds to be productive members of society?
Mr. Lincoln, you were the greatest racist ever. We had a great gig. Three squares, room and board, all our decisions made by the massa in the house. Please repeal the 13th and 14th Amendments and let us get back to where we belong.
Sincerely
Precious Ben Jealous, Tom's Nephew National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Head Colored Person
The Problem Men Have with "Independent Women"
Written by Anthony Rucker
I’m independent . . . Independence means I don’t need anybody for anything. As said in a great movie, “Why don’t you wake up and smell what you’re shoveling?”
Bill Gates, rich man that he is, still needs Charmin to make toilet paper and Ma Bell for phone service. Independence for him means having the ability to pay for it himself, which is all this new found independence everybody is claiming means, I now have money and means. It doesn’t mean you don’t need others, or that they are only good for one thing.
Crack: More than Just a Drug...
Written by Ali S. Flux
Today, a Senate Judiciary Committee voted to decrease the sentencing ratio for crack cocaine, from 100 to 1, to 20 to 1, thereby reducing the odd difference between sentencing practices for offences involving crack and cocaine. The Fair Sentencing Act was intended to address the gross disparity between sentences for possession of crack, as opposed to cocaine. As they existed previously, sentencing laws tacked on a heftier jail sentence for the possession of crack. Many believe this creates a dynamic wherein minorities and the poor, (or those more likely to use crack cocaine), are systematically discriminated against by the judicial system.
Blast from the Past: We Need You, Teedra!
Written by Justin Mitchell
The best R&B album of what folks are now calling "the aughts" has got to be Teedra Moses' Complex Simplicity. That's no disrespect to my man Raphael Saadiq, who dropped three stellar albums during that period: Instant Vintage, Ray Ray, and The Way I See It. In fact, it's a nod to Saadiq's own outstanding taste. He produced a track on Moses' one and only full-length studio album. Moses' new album is scheduled for release this year and one can only hope that it's as beautiful, rueful, and sonically lush as her first effort. Moses, along with Saadiq, Maxwell, D'Angelo, and Erykah Badu represents some of the last vestiges of integrity in contemporary black music. I'm hoping that she stops teasing us and puts out Young Lioness in the coming months. Until then, check out "Be Your Girl," the lead single from Complex Simplicity, with its lovely Ahmad Jamal sample, eerie synthesizers, and multi-tracked vocals that recall the aesthetics of Marvin Gaye:
