Palin Who? Just as the sun rose, and out of nowhere appears a new VP hopeful for the Republican Party. Her face is as unfamiliar to many as the woman on the other end of the 800 DELL customer service help line. Who is she? Where did she come from? So her stats are partially known to some, yet many Americans are faced with the notion that this estranged woman could in fact become the next president of the United States. Thankfully, McCain is not our oldest presidential candidate, so fingers crossed on that one. Yet as vice president, Palin’s role amongst the policy makers is to some too close for comfort. Her position became obvious the moment she opened her mouth, and frankly, I’m worried. It appears as though the Republican Party stands by their belief in anti-abortion laws, and I assume now are high supporters of teenage pregnancy. Haven’t we learned anything from the Spears sisters? Speculation and rumor are all that many voting Americans actually know about Sarah Palin, leaving one to ponder if there really is anything else to know. I think that Big Brother has been exposed, and we now see how the justice and equality of our country is really not so just and equal after all to allow this mystery woman easy access into the presidential slot, while others have worked so diligently. Our country is crying for a change, not to mention the fact that other countries depend on us so heavily. If we had a hard time seeing Hilary in office, close your eyes and envision President Sarah Palin, panic mode sets in! |

Anthony Tony Kevin Dungy became the head coach for the Indianapolis Colts organization in 2002. Before this opportunity, he had been the coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 through 2001. He was a former National Football League NFL player and held other coaching or coordinator positions within the league. Coach |

The veritable silence of the mainstream media with regard to African American issues became more apparent last week during the mid term elections when several of our political gains went largely unnoticed. Few African Americans probably had any idea that a black man by the name of Erik Fleming ran against incumbent Trent Lott in Mississippi and won 46 of the vote, a major achievement in a state that is 36 black and, as recent remarks made by representative Charles Rangel seem to suggest, exists almost entirely as a lingering specter of racial oppression in the Afrcan American imagination.
