Today, The Throne premiered their new official video for "N*ggas In Paris" off of their widely accepted Watch the Throne album. Last year, I was lucky enough to score tickets to their Watch The Throne tour stop in NYC at Madison Square Garden. The footage in this video is clearly from their popular tour. This track got crazy airplay on the radio, and at the concert, it was the last cut from the album the rap duo performed. The Throne often did encore performances of the track because if it's high popularity, performing it more than five times in certain cities. Before the video starts, there is a warning that it may cause epileptic seizures. "That Sh*t Cray" I'm feeling all of the effects used in this music video. Leave it to HOV and Yeezy to stay ahead of the curve and keep people guessing. Check out the video and tell us what you think. |

With Lamar Odom being traded to Dallas, it’s no surprise why the Mavs vs. Lakers game was one of the most anticipated games of the season. Odom returned to Los Angeles to receive a standing ovation, a tribute video during a timeout and a scoreboard shout out that said "Thanks for the memories LAMAR". Talk about love! The Lakers pulled out a win 73-70 and Odom had 10 points with the Kardashian clan there to cheer him on. Upon this well anticipated captivating game, we have to take into consideration of the factors that may have affected Odom. For one Odom took being traded pretty hard. After seven seasons and two title rings it is safe to say that the L.A fan favorite did not want to leave. Who would? L.A = DYNASTY, ok beside the point. But, the man cannot catch a break. It is also safe to say that he is still dealing with the emotional distress from a car accident this summer that killed a 15 year old pedestrian while he was in NYC for a funeral for his cousin. Not to mention earlier last year he also openly discussed his father being a heroin addict. Odom’s story is pretty lengthy with tragedies that include the deaths of both his mother and youngest son. I can only imagine being a part of the Kardashian’s isn’t always easy breezy either.

I’ve been hearing this song on Hot97 a lot lately. I never heard of the artist before then. He goes by the name Don Trip. The Memphis emcee is currently signed to an imprint on Interscope. This song caught my attention with it’s soulful intro and sample. The crafting of this track is genius because it’s simple yet complex at the same time.
Generally speaking, Don Trip is a father who is expressing his frustration about not being allowed to see his son through a heated rant. He’s obviously speaking to his son through the song, but he is also making demands from his baby’s mother.
I like how he paints a picture of his situation with his lyrics, and there’s no denying that the raw emotion is there. I also like how it shows the other side of “the norm,” the norm being a father not being in his son’s life because he’s a deadbeat. In this case, the father wants to be involved but the mother of his child presents an obstacle of him seeing his son.
To add to the emotionally charged lyrics from Don Trip, Cee-lo’s unique soulful voice was the icing on the cake to evoke feelings from the listener. We already know that the song is a plead for Don Trip to see his son, but Cee-lo’s hook makes you sympathize even more with the situation.
I’ve never experienced a situation like this, but I definitely felt the emotion and hard feelings through this song. That’s what makes this a powerful statement, not just a song.
Let me know what you think. Peep the video treatment. |

This is a beautiful song by Kayne and Jay Z taking hip hop to another level as Obama is taking America to the next level. This in opinion is inspired by the President - which I predicted soon after he was elected. This is just a simple blog post for perhaps one of the most conscious hip hop songs of all time. |

This is just fire - Ross is killing it with this track - shamed to say that I am a 41 year old mature Ivy League Educate Entrepreneur, but this shit just motivates me to make money. Ross is just on top of his game producing quality tracks on top of quality tracks. Put that fact together with the fact that he owns Maybach Music - you can't argue right now he is the boss. Tupac is Back.
